raspberry pi - Mobile Device Interface

All interfaces for a raspberry pi should consider the purpose of the implementation. I imagine that the hardware interface allows the raspberry pi to be connected into place firmly. Male and female connectors fall into place easily and are secured with at least 3 screws. The first purpose is to allow a raspberry pi to be easily replaced so that the system can be repaired and upgraded. There are many considerations for this first purpose, but I will leave that up to others for now.

The mobile device interface can be connected to the body. This can be done in different ways. There are a few peripherals that I would like to see on the first model. I want GPS capabilities on this device to track location data. I want a microphone to record audio. I want speakers to emit audio. And I want a camera to record pictures and video. I would also like at least one temperature sensor. I want an rfid reader. A wireless communication extension using bluetooth, wifi, radio, and cellular networks in general would be helpful. I like an implementation where the housing is connected to the arm between the wrist and elbow. If the user stands and places arms down to their side with palms on legs, the user's control-display should face forward. If the user bends the elbows so that forearms are parallel with the ground the device will face upward toward the head. There should be a pocket of air between the water-shock-proof device casing and the user's skin. This is achieved using support columns which extend the casing away from the skin. Armbands and/or sweat bands are the anchor points for the support system. Users will be free to wear the device on either arm - whichever is more comfortable, and they can be controlled manually with fingers on the opposite arm.

The purpose of the design is an attempt to protect the device while offering comfort to the user. The device might one day be used by first responders of many kinds. Volunteers can use the device to capture helpful information. A good gun owner who wants to open carry their weapon could use this device to record important evidence. Imagine police, soldiers, and citizens voluntarily using this device along with their weapons. I know that I would want my police and soldiers to use this type of device if the resources were available. Imagine implementations used purely for personal safety where the device itself is considered a weapon. People who don't want to carry a gun could carry this device around to automatically update a remote server. Violent people will be less likely to target people who carry this recording device. Criminals will be less likely to commit crimes. And the ability to respond to threats will be enhanced. Imagine a few of these systems being slightly modified and connected to harnesses on vehicles that report dangerous road hazards. Good citizens who have registered for notifications can be warned of the threat and may even become the first responder - doing the cleanup as soon as possible to minimize destruction caused by the threat.

When you are done using your device in public, simply plug it into a harness that will automatically change its configuration becoming a sensor in your networks. It could be used to recognize threats in the house. What if a fire starts? This device can record data and escalate recording procedures in a logical way. A smoke alarm is triggered. That alarm could be connected to the raspberry pi device or perhaps the device is listening for some unique signal whether it is auditory, sub-sonic, ultra-sonic, or some other spectrum of information. Detection of smoke results in activation of the camera. If the original alarm is not addressed by the property owners - then the information begins to spread to others who have registered for notifications. Neighbors and fire departments can try to be a first responder.

Imagine the device charging and serving as an integrated smoke alarm system. It can also serve up temperature data to aid in the efficient, effective, and automated air conditioning processes. Imagine the camera being used to monitor for break-ins. Or perhaps it is monitoring movement in the house to coordinate with servos on a television mount so that the television is tilting in the ideal directions. These devices can be very useful in so many ways. If enough people began to own them we could even begin to build up ad-hoc wireless networks that operate in parallel to the modern communications networks. Perhaps we can even build the casing for these systems to withstand inevitable electromagnetic pulses from our sun. Redundancies can be helpful. Interoperability can be helpful. Multiple functionality can be helpful. Information used for increased awareness and automation can be very helpful.

Imagine this device connected to televisions. I already mentioned servos on television mounts that can intelligently respond to the presence of people nearby. Imagine information systems that are strategically placed for the benefit of people who are present at that location. This type of software could allow the device to share presentations associated with a geographic location. The presentation might be a historic presentation or a technical presentation. I consider this type of device to be a library of information relevant to a location. Many different configurations and programs can be used in helpful ways.

Introduction

There are developing areas near me. And I hope to help many people. In order to help I need help. So the first objective in the collection of objectives is to identify helpful candidates. The process of identifying helpful candidates can make use of existing outreach programs and people within those programs. We must first establish connections with candidates by sharing contact information. The candidates must be responsive. If I try to contact a candidate I will expect a timely response dependent upon their currently known objectives. The candidate may respond at later dates with information regarding the accomplishment of their previously unknown objectives. We recognize that each candidate may encounter unforeseen emergent objectives which are extremely important. We only ask that the candidate collect evidence to satisfy our curiosity at a later date. The candidate should take notes. These notes can be captured via many forms of media. Some forms of media are more satisfying than others.

I am a candidate and I need to begin fulfilling the duties which I will expect others to fulfill. I will create the technology that I will use and other candidates may use. For example, I am currently creating technology to expose financial information. My candidates will need to use this technology to increase donor awareness. I have plans to integrate cellular devices with technology so that images will be shared publicly. I will try to identify important device performance. For example - the Samsung Galaxy s3 does not perform as well as the Apple iPhone 4s with regards to their cellular connectivity. The Apple will connect over larger distances than the Samsung. But the Samsung has a built in GPS which is also useful.

I imagine waking up and establishing goals for the day. These goals can be established with the help of financiers so that the financial backers remain satisfied. These publicly accessible daily goals make the individual goal-oriented and allow for the introduction of a feedback loop between supporters and volunteers. These two types of people may be referred to in many ways. A supporter can be called a donor or a financial backer. A volunteer might be called an activist or an employee. Each person is part of the team by choice and they can freely associate and disassociate. Relevant information allows for each individual to maintain a referential reputation which attracts or repels others. The resume is created and maintained as the person provides evidence concerning objectives.

Some basic personal information as a candidate will be collected and shared by integrating with paypal, google, facebook, pinterest, stackexchange, github, and others using developer APIs. People will be able to see my example and learn the technology to become candidates who attract the attention of others including myself. The new economy of the future looks promising.
